Lil' Buck Interview (Taks about being The Voice of Geismar LA, A Mill Before The Deal and Getting Buckwild!)

South East Hip Hop:  How are you doing Lil' Buck?
Lil' Buck:  I am doing well, my mix tape is gaining steam and the big boys are calling.

South East Hip Hop:  How did you get the name Lil' Buck?
Lil' Buck:  When I was a yungin; I was a bit buck wild hence the name was given to me and over the years it evolved into Lil Buck.

South East Hip Hop:  How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Lil' Buck:  A straight go getta', unique, not afraid to push the envelope.  If people tell me what I can't do, I will go out of my way to prove them wrong.

South East Hip Hop:  Who would you compare yourself to?
Lil' Buck:  No comparison, I am me.  My style is unique and represents who I am.  Have you seen my show?  After viewing my show people say I have my own style.

South East Hip Hop:  What type of beats bring out the best in what you do?
Lil' Buck:  I want to feel the production. I want to live with the track and become intrinsically involved.  I want the track and my lyrics to become one.  When I get that feeling I couple with the energy then that's a special track.

South East Hip Hop:  Do you pay for beats?  If so, or if not, what is your process for selecting beats?
Lil' Buck:  In some cases yes, in some cases no.  I gather all tracks which are submitted, I then work to narrow down the tracks accordingly.  The tracks are in a tournament and many get eliminated as I work toward my final four.

South East Hip Hop:  What producers have you worked with?
Lil' Buck:  Peace to my mans Hard Beatz, J. Mills (ATL), J. Skillz and J. Buck.  These cats hold me down and deliver heat.

South East Hip Hop:  Who did you work with for your single "Nyte Lyfe"?
Lil' Buck:  Hard Beatz was the producer.  It was one of those tracks that spoke to me.  It had a bonafide club feel and I was like I can F#@* with this.  I told Hard Beatz to lay it down and I penned a solid piece of hip-hop laurel.  "Nyte Lyfe" is one of the best club tracks out right now.  When people hear Nyte Lyfe they respond.  Many DJs have let me know how the audience reacts to this track.

South East Hip Hop:  What can listeners expect to hear on your mixtape A Mill Before The Deal?
Lil' Buck:  Heat coupled with energy and most important some brand new s**t!!!  A Mill Before The Deal will be a peek behind the curtain.  I am giving a huge slice of what to expect when the major deal becomes official.  I wanted to put together a solid project that people all over can relate to and simultaneously prompt DJs to select different tracks to bump.

South East Hip Hop:  We see you are from Geismar, Louisiana.... how is the music scene there?
Lil' Buck:  I am Geismar music.  It begins and ends with me.

South East Hip Hop:  Who are some of the artists that you listen to?
Lil' Buck:  I bump myself but I do check out 2 Chainz, E-40, Too $hort, Snoop and C-Bo. Snoop Too $hort and E-40 picked up my music via Twitter and I have formed a relationship with each of them. My Twitter handle is @lilbuckofficial

South East Hip Hop:  What other shows do you have lined up that you want to tell the people about?
Lil' Buck:  I will be in Hattiesburg, MS on the 19 April, Laplace, LA 27 of April, Hattiesburg, MS Taste Bar Lounge, 4 May Thibodaux, LA

South East Hip Hop:  What plans do you have for the rest of 2013?
Lil' Buck:   I will continue to continue grind and prepare for my major release. I will used the remaining portion of 2013 to prepare for an exciting 2014.

South East Hip Hop:  Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Lil' Buck:  An artist that people respect and one that has earned his way into the annuals of hip-hop lure.  I want to be that guy that earned his spot and represent my city and my region to the fullest.  In five years I will be bringing consistent heat to the game.

South East Hip Hop:  Is there anything else you would like to plug? Any shout outs?
Lil' Buck:  I am grateful to every DJ that has took a chance to spin my record and are now receiving positive feedback.  I also would like to thank all the fans that are following me and whom appreciate my music.  Remember to follow @lilbuckofficial.

Reebok drops Rick Ross after Controversial Lyric

Rick Ross' controversial lyrics has come back to hit him where it really hurts, his pockets. Reebok has reportedly dropped Rozay as a spokesman. TMZ Reports: Rick Ross just learned a hard lesson about r*pe and money ... you embrace one, you lose the other ... because he was just DUMPED by Reebok. As TMZ previously reported ... Ross has taken a ton of heat for his song, U.O.E.N.O ... in which he spits,

"Put Molly [Ecstasy] all in the champagne. She ain't even know it. I took her home and I enjoy that. She ain't even know it."

Translation -- date r*pe. Reebok tells TMZ ... "Reebok holds our partners to a high standard, and we expect them to live up to the values of our brand. Unfortunately, Rick Ross has failed to do so." Reebok continues: "While we do not believe that Rick Ross condones s-xual assault, we are very disappointed he has yet to display an understanding of the seriousness of this issue or an appropriate level of remorse." Reebok received pressure to dump "the boss" particularly from Ultra Violet, a women's rights organization. Last week, Ultra Violet held a protest at the Reebok store in NYC.  Just today, artist Rocko dropped a new version of "U.O.E.N.O." without a Rick Ross verse. About a month ago, Rick Ross appeared in the Reebok commercial for its "Live White Hot" campaign.

Let us know what you think in the comments:

Waka Flocka angers Black Women during a New Interview

First Lil' Wayne, then Slim Thug and now.....Waka Flocka is one of the latest rappers to piss off.....black women.  In a recent Interview on Hot 97 this is what Waka said

“…used to be black girls was the baddest shit, you know what I mean? Spanish, J-Lo be poppin’ … white women are poppin’ right now, man. They f**kin’ poppin’. Imma just be real.”

Speaking of "poppin' white women", Waka Flocka recently tried to get at "poppin' white actress" Danielle Fishel (best known for her role as Topanga in the 90s television series "Boy Meets World").

So what are you saying Waka Flocka, that black women aren't "poppin'"???

What do you all have to say about this?

Are you a black woman?  If so, how do you feel about this statement?

Voice your opinions in the comment section below!

Interview with C. Suave (Atlanta Georgia based artist talks about his past, present and future in this New Interview)

Rising Atlanta based recording artist C. Suave sat down and had a one on one interview with South East Hip Hop Magazine.  In this interview C. Suave talks about his past experiences as an artist, his forthcoming mixtapes, and more!  Read all about what he has to say in this interview.

South East Hip Hop:  What part of the U.S. are you representing?
C. Suave:  Georgia...... The South Eastern Region

South East Hip Hop:  How long have you been rhyming?
C. Suave:  I've Been Rhyming since I was 17.

South East Hip Hop:  How would you describe yourself as an artist?
C. Suave:  First of I am a well dedicated artist who works on his craft more than anything .... I like telling my life story cause I feel like if you keep it real then there's other people that can relate... that's mostly going through the same situations.  So I am an Hip Hop/R&B Artist who loves to tell the truth and loves making music for the ladies but can also be lyrical..... I also write my own music.

South East Hip Hop:  What would you say makes C. Suave different from any other artist in the game right now?
C. Suave:  I would say I focus on the inspirational side of life into my music so really if I'm making a song that's not about the women, I'm really speaking to that kid or teenager who is dealing with the world on his back and needs some up-lifting music to help him cope thru the hard times ...knowing that his situation will get better if he believes in his self.

South East Hip Hop:  Who are some of your favorite artists?
C. Suave:  Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kid Cudi , TIP, OutKast , Maxwell, Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Nas, Drake, J.Cole

South East Hip Hop:  Who are some of the artists that you have worked with?
C. Suave:   Hustle N Flo and just some in house artists on my team

South East Hip Hop:  Who would you like to work with in the future?
C. Suave:  TIP , Lil Wayne , Drake , J.Cole Usher Trey Songz

South East Hip Hop:  What types of beats bring out the best in what you do?
C. Suave:  Well smooth rather calm chilling beats where I can vent out to the world.

South East Hip Hop:  Who are some of the beatmakers/ producers that you worked with?
C. Suave:   Obrian , Epik the Dawn , Vybe Beatz , Best Keep Secret , Naux

South East Hip Hop:  What beatmakers would you like to collaborate in the future?
C. Suave:  Mike Will Made It , Key Wayne , Kanye West , Dr.Dre , Dj Khaled , Timbaland

South East Hip Hop:  Do you buy beats, and what is your method for selecting beats?
C. Suave:  Most of the time I buy beats and then I have my in-house producers make me some beats, and the way I select my beats is thru the concept I'm trying to bring out in the current project.  I'm all about telling a good story and keep it sonic-ally perfect making the songs marry each other thru the project.

South East Hip Hop:  What was one of the worst experiences you've had as an artist so far and how did you bounce back from it?
C. Suave:  Not being able to release my mixtapes back to back or at least in the time frame I wanted to cause of the situation I was in ...in my life .... going thru family problems plus was out of a job and had no source of income so I wasn't able to record or keep a steady buzz, but now I'm back with a more deeper story and more dedication to the music and making it.

South East Hip Hop:  What has been one of the highlights of your career so far?
C. Suave:  My first show opening up for Kirko Bangz In Columbus, Ga ..... It was a pretty big crowd and a lot of women there (laughs) I love the women so yeah I had a better great response back from the crowd off of my performance and being on stage was a high for me I really enjoy performing.

South East Hip Hop:  In your opinion what would you say is one of the best ways to get your music out there?
C. Suave:  Really Hip Hop to me was raised from the streets so I would say your street Game should be up so Mixtapes and just demos being handed out where ever you go and also being at clubs interacting with DJs but also the use of the Internet is a great way now of days and I believe you need to have both Street buzz and Internet buzz to get heard so any from of media outlet is a good way too

South East Hip Hop:  What are you working on right now?
C. Suave:  I am Working on my current mixtape "Hardly Influenced" with a special surprise DJ that's co-signing it can't give you call the details at this moment but it's gonna be big for Music in General!

South East Hip Hop:  What do you have planned for the rest of 2013?
C. Suave:  Dropping the Hardly Influenced mixtape in the early winter Nov. 11 ....dropping my first Music video in the Summer for the first single on the mixtape .... and doing shows all down in south Florida region and also just around the Ga ....hopefully hit some other states in the process after I release the Mixtape

South East Hip Hop:  Speaking of the future, where would you like to be within the next 5 years?
C. Suave:  A Grammy - Award winning Artist , with at least Three platinum Albums and 10 Platinum singles with a whole bunch of guest features and a lot of Tour Money while having a lot of Merch out and A Big Record Deal .. while making my own independent label also

South East Hip Hop:  Is there anything else you would like to plug? Any shout outs?
C. Suave:  yes , "Hardly Influenced : The Mixtape" coming out Nov.11 2013 ... ALSO be on the lookout for my first music video "Trillion" one of the first singles of the mixtape, and be on the lookout for Da Frat Mixtape at the End of 2013 ....and D.O.E mixtape around the same time .... Mono Bagends talks about his new single "You Drive Me Crazy" and Still has Love for The South!

Last year in 2012, South East Hip Hop Mag interviewed Mono Bagends about his banging single "On Fire"!  Although Mono Bagends is stationed in New York, the northern rapper reached out to Virginia production team Luxxary Music for that good ol' South East sound that got our attention and we just had to give him a feature.  Well now in 2013, Mono Bagends has returned with another banging single by the name of "You Drive Me Crazy" and South East Hip Hop is one of the first to sit down and talk to him about Mono Bagend's latest banger in this in depth one on one interview!

South East Hip Hop:  What are four words you would use to describe your latest single "You Drive Me Crazy"?
Mono Bagends:  Club, Dance, Fast Paced, Fun

South East Hip Hop:  After dropping "On Fire" in 2012, what made you want to follow up with that single with "You Drive Me Crazy"?
Mono Bagends:
I wanted to come out with a single that was different than the first one. I am a
versatile artist and I wanted to show that. Both records are hot and will appeal to
different audiences

South East Hip Hop:  What makes "You Drive Me Crazy" different from "On Fire" and in what ways are they similar?
Mono Bagends:  You Drive Me Crazy is more fast paced and built for a club and the radio.
On Fire is more of a radio record in my opinion. I don't really think there are many
similarities between the two records. If an artist keeps coming out with the same
type of records that is wack in my opinion.

South East Hip Hop:  Although you are based in New York, you don't have much of a "New York sound", would you agree, and if so is that something you are doing on purpose?
Mono Bagends:
I don't really know if I have a NY sound or not...it is not something I concentrate

on. I make the records the way I hear them. I have heard that before though. Just
being me.

South East Hip Hop:  How would you describe your audience?  Who are some of the types of people that listen to Mono Bagends?  Who do you make your music for?
Mono Bagends:
I make the music for myself. I don't make records thinking a particular crowd of
people will like it or not. My audience consists of people who like a complete artist. Lyrics, hot beats, versatility and a great stage presence.

South East Hip Hop:   Let's talk about the producers of the single "On Fire" for a sec., would you consider working with Luxxary Music again for another record, and have you worked with them for other records in the past?
Mono Bagends:
Yes I would work with them again...we made a great record and no I have not worked
with them before "On Fire"

South East Hip Hop:  Speaking of the people you've worked with, in the past you've collaborated with Mac Peoples and T-Weezy from Texas, do you have plans to collaborate with those artists again in the future?
Mono Bagends:
I would work with T-Weezy again...we have made lots of records together...we have
lost touch with each other but that happens in this business...when the time is right we will get back to work. No to Mac Peoples.

South East Hip Hop:  How did you hook up with Mac Peoples and T-Weezy?
Mono Bagends:
I met T-Weezy 10 years ago through another producer Roc1. We talked a bunch on the
phone and met up in NY...Mac's label heard the breakin em down record and asked if he could get on it.

South East Hip Hop:  Why wouldn't you be willing to work with Mac Peoples again?
Mono Bagends:  We make completely different types of music...it doesn't match up.

South East Hip Hop:  Are there any other artists from Texas that you wouldn't mind working with that you haven't already before?
Mono Bagends:
No one comes to mind.

South East Hip Hop:  Getting back to your current single "You Drive Me Crazy", you have a singer on the hook by the name of Mela Bela... how did the two of you hook up to collaborate on this song?
Mono Bagends:
I was in the studio listening to the record when she walked in and started singing...I thought she sounded dope and we sat together and made the record right there...we

shared in the whole process. She is a great singer and a beautiful person inside and out. I feel blessed to have come across her in life.

South East Hip Hop:  How did you and Mela Bela meet?
Mono Bagends:  She was walking into the same building I was walking into. She was carrying something heavy and I ran to hold the door for her and we started talking. Funny how things work out.

South East Hip Hop:  What's next for Mono Bagends?
Mono Bagends:
To take this thing to the next level...My phone and e-mail have been very busy lately..I am loving it..I will be releasing either an EP or LP shortly....

South East Hip Hop:  Are there any last words?  Anything else you would like to plug?
Mono Bagends:
I want to thank you for the interview and supporting my movement. Thanks to the fans of my music. Any promoters can hit us up at
bagendsrecords@gmail.com. Here are some

links where you can follow my career:
